Six policemen were killed in an armed attack in the northern Mexican state of Zacatecas, where drug gangs are active.
The state government said in a statement carried by Agence France-Presse: that the gunmen initially killed five policemen, who were training in a sports center in Calera de Victor Rosales, and then two other policemen later arrived at the scene, and the gunmen also shot them, killing one of them.
Since the Mexican army launched its war against drugs, more than 340,000 people have been killed in Mexico, most of them in crimes attributed to criminal organizations, while another 100,000 people are considered missing.
