Last Wednesday (21st), Customs intercepted a river vessel and seized 16,000 Mark Six lottery tickets that had been wagered in the waters west of Hong Kong for anti-smuggling.

After an in-depth investigation, Customs arrested a couple in Tsuen Wan, claiming that the woman bought a large amount of "computer flying" with cash at two betting shops in Tsuen Wan on September 21.

During the operation, Customs seized a large amount of documents, several mobile phones and 280,000 yuan in cash, and also froze the suspected criminal proceeds of about 1 million yuan in their bank accounts.

As for the 16,000 smuggled Mark Six lottery tickets, about 600 of them won prizes, and the winnings were about HK$70,000.

Customs said that it is actively seeking the opinion of the Department of Justice on whether to receive the bonus.

Huang Zhenfu, commander of the wealth investigation team of the Customs Organised Crime Investigation Division, pointed out that last Wednesday, the Customs intercepted a river boat in the western waters for anti-smuggling, and seized more than 10 million yuan of smuggled goods, including 16,000 yuan of Mark Six "computer flying". The amount is about 330,000 yuan. It is the first time that the customs has detected a case of smuggling of Mark Six lottery tickets.

To buy, she used cash to buy a large amount of "Computer Fly" for 20 yuan. After preliminary investigation, it was found that her husband was also involved in the case.

Huang Zhenfu pointed out that the woman also tried to buy a lot of Mark Six lottery tickets in the same way a few months ago.

Customs officers went to the couple's apartment in Tsuen Wan to arrest them this morning, and seized a large amount of bank documents, shipping documents, multiple mobile phones and 280,000 yuan in cash. Customs has also frozen over 1 million in the bank accounts of the arrested couple. Yuan suspects the proceeds of crime.

Customs is investigating the two people's financial background, the source of the funds involved, and whether the smuggling activities are manipulated by groups. It is not ruled out that more people will be arrested.
