MK Gila Gamaliel congratulated Giorgia Maloney on the occasion of her victory and being elected to the position of Prime Minister of Italy, and Maloney replied to the Knesset member from the Likud: "Thank you, we will strengthen ties with Israel."
"Thank you for your words and friendship. We are ready to strengthen our bilateral relations and our joint work in the conservative family. Good luck in the upcoming elections," wrote the new Prime Minister of Italy MK Gamliel.

It should be noted that the Likud and Maloney's party, the "Brothers of Italy", are members of an international association of conservative parties in the world.
While Gamaliel and other right-wing officials congratulated Maloney on her election victory, Israel's Foreign Ministry and the ministers of the current government do not refer to her election as Prime Minister of Italy.
The reason for this is the labeling of Maloney in the European left-wing media as a 'party leader with fascist roots' and the criticism leveled at her by the European Union as well.
