A hurricane hunting plane flew over the Caribbean when Tropical Cyclone
Ian
headed for Florida after passing through Cuba.
In the images captured by one of the crew members, the occupants can be seen crossing an area with turbulence and clinging to the walls of the aircraft to seek stability.
The category 4 cyclone arrived in the US on Wednesday, with torrential rains and winds of more than 240 kilometers per hour.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Hurricane Hunters are teams of pilots and scientists who fly into the eye of hurricanes as they approach to collect data on their exact location and intensity.
