In an initiative that is considered the first of its kind in the field of transforming vocational schools into training and production centers and giving students the opportunity to gain experience before entering the labor market, Ayham Dayoub Vocational High School in Homs started a project to maintain a water heating network for a housing unit in the university city in Homs, at a cost of 60 million Syrian pounds.

The importance of the project comes as it is being implemented with one of the public institutions within the framework of the instructions of Law No. 38 of 2021, which aims to build professional and technical manpower and provide them with the skills required in the labor market through training in a real work environment, according to the Director of Homs Education Walid Marei, who indicated that the duration of implementation The project is 75 days.

Marei indicated that the maintenance work carried out by the vocational schools previously was for the benefit of the Directorate of Education, pointing to the importance of these projects, as their proceeds are distributed to teachers and students participating in the productive process, which contributes to finding income for the student to help him complete his studies, and to secure additional income for the teacher to help him improve his financial situation.

The Director of Vocational Education in Homs Education, Engineer Maysam Zarifa, stated that the project includes the maintenance of all faults in the network, including pumps, delivery pipes, water heating pipes, and solar collectors, replacing the damaged ones, and restarting the circuit completely. .

Zarifa pointed out that the desired benefit from this project is a practical and scientific benefit through practical training for students to maintain real faults in the heating circuit, as well as a material benefit for crafts teachers, students and the school, since the profits of the contract are distributed according to the provisions of Law No. 38.

Zarifa noted the importance of the law through the wide powers it gave to the directors of vocational high schools to implement real practical projects that enable the student to increase his practical skills and engage in real work at an early age and move from the stage of training application in laboratories to the stage of practical application.
