Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that the Ukrainian authorities are trying to repeat in the city of Izyum the same scenario of provocations that took place in the town of Bucha, near Kyiv earlier.

“After the regrouping of the Allied forces in the Kharkov region, the Zelensky regime is trying in every possible way to repeat the scenario of Bucha in the city of Izyum, which they tried to write themselves by fabricating evidence of alleged crimes committed by the Russian army,” Zakharova was quoted by Sputnik news agency as saying in a press briefing today, adding: “There are so many inconsistencies that it is impossible to promote this topic any longer.”

On the other hand, Zakharova said: The Kyiv authorities coordinated with the US command to choose targets during the strikes at the time of the referendum in the Donbass region, Kherson and Zaporozhye provinces.

Zakharova added: On the part of the Kyiv regime, during the referendum in the liberated lands, multiple HIMARS missile launchers that were delivered to Ukraine by the United States were used, and targets were chosen that the Ukrainian forces finally agreed with the US Army and the US military command.

Regarding the incidents of gas leakage from the North Stream pipelines, Zakharova said: "Washington should explain the reason behind these accidents and admit its involvement in them."

Zakharova added: “The United States should explain its position and admit rather than delegate it to the former Polish Foreign Minister and Member of the European Parliament Radoslaw Sikorski, who thanked the United States from the bottom of his heart for the accident in the Russian gas pipeline.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier today that Russia considers such an incident a terrorist attack and said that it could not happen "without the involvement of some countries," calling for an urgent international investigation with the cooperation of a number of countries, describing the situation as very dangerous.

In another context, Zakharova announced that Moscow and Washington are holding a dialogue on the issue of resuming inspections under the START 3 treaty, and a direct meeting of the Advisory Committee is under discussion.

She noted that inspection activities under the treaty have been suspended since the beginning of 2020 by mutual agreement with the United States due to the coronavirus pandemic, and said: "The issue of its resumption is under consideration, and a dialogue is underway through appropriate channels on how the parties can return to the full implementation of the treaty."
