The uncertain future of the Mittenwald ice rink not only occupies the minds - it really heats them up.

At the end of the Tuesday session, scraps flew in the municipal council.

There were massive atmospheric disturbances, especially between Christel Seitz and Deputy Mayor Georg Seitz.

Mittenwald

– The fact that Georg Seitz (Free Voters) can also be loud and aggressive was last proven in March during the heated debate about the Bolzano market.

"Let me finish, you've finished too!" he had shouted at his astonished CSU colleague Gerhard Schöner at the time.

On Tuesday evening, Seitz was apparently upset again, although he had held back noticeably until the end.

But under the item "Miscellaneous" his energy discharged - once again over the black faction.

The trigger for his general attack was Christel Seitz (CSU), who addressed a highly explosive topic at the end of the public session: the future of the municipal ice rink, which the Mayer family would like to close on October 16 due to the galloping energy prices.

"That's not a birdhouse," Seitz said at first to the CSU, but a full-fledged sports arena, the provisional end of which, according to Seitz, "came with a bang".

That was, so to speak, the reply to Veit's accusation.

She had criticized why the ice rink was not on the agenda because of the explosiveness and the time pressure.

"In general, I would like to complain that we councilors generally get far too little information."

Apparently you really don't talk to each other, you don't have a clue.

George Seitz

Mayor Enrico Corongiu (SPD) initially did not want to let this criticism stand.

He illustrated Veit and Co. again the timing.

After the bomb burst in the ice stadium cause in the middle of this month, the head of town hall sat down with the representatives of the three sports clubs concerned on Monday, September 19th.

The group spokesman found out about it the next day.

The construction and finance committees met just a little later.

"In addition, there would also have been the possibility of asking," Corongiu addressed Veit directly.

According to the mayor, discussing the ice rink at this point would have been completely pointless.

"Because we have an existing long-term lease, you don't dissolve it overnight!

Then even the otherwise level-headed Corongiu used clearer language after Veit had spoken in his direction of "lacking solutions".

"We all work here in the town hall and do our best, but we are not the Munich city administration!" With the appropriate number of staff.

"We also have other projects where time is of the essence, that's all we can do."

Then Corongius Vice spoke up, who is apparently responsible for the rough part in this town hall duo.

"Apparently you really don't talk to each other, you don't have a clue." With which Georg Seitz of course hit the CSU parliamentary group.

Then the Gratz'n-Schorsch colleague Veit buttoned up.

"Dear Christl, you are bombarding us all with e-mails and blocking the entire administration!" This verbal attack out of nowhere hit with full force.

That was a low shot, Schorsch.

Dieter Schermak

Now the opponent's face finally rose with anger.

"Outrageous!" At no time did she want the town hall employees to be fed masses of electronic messages.

"But as a municipal councilor, it's also my job to ask questions occasionally." Especially since one thing is certain for Christel Veit: "We haven't achieved much in the past two and a half years." then I can also go home.” Of course, she didn't do the same.

Towards the end of this unexpectedly impulsive discussion, the veteran Dieter Schermak (CSU) spoke up.

Once again, in a tried and moderate tone, he pointed out the explosive power of the ice rink as a political issue.

"The citizens just don't give up." They simply want to find out more.

"The clubs have also signed contracts, they have enormous costs." Regarding the attack by the second mayor Georg Seitz, the passionate Waidmann said: "It was a low shot, Schorsch!"
