A resident of Givat Ze'ev who transports children in his 60s was arrested today (Friday) on suspicion of committing sexual offenses against children during his work.

He was arrested following a complaint filed against him in recent days by one of the parents, and later today he will be brought before the court for a hearing on a request to extend his detention.

Following the incident, the regional council near Jerusalem announced that the work of the driver and attendant was immediately terminated.

The council informed the parents that the head of the council and the Ministry of Education are involved in the issue and that the council offers a psychological service for children and their families.

The welfare department is also involved in what is happening.

"Be assured that everything necessary will be done to ensure the safety of the precious children and to make sure that this type of case will not happen," the council told the parents.
