The operator of the Lenggrieser post office said goodbye to his customers after the last day of business.

There are currently no more branches in Lenggries.

Lenggries –

Roland Dörning, the last customer at the Lenggries post office on Bahnhofstrasse, had a sip of sparkling wine while doing postal business.

On Wednesday evening at 6 p.m., the previous operator Andre Kolbe locked the doors forever.

This means that the 10,000-inhabitant community is without a post office for the time being.

What a successor model could look like is not yet clear (we reported).

This also moved many of the customers who came to Kolbe's "Team 3 Modellbau & More" shop in the past few days, in which the post office was integrated.

"It's really problematic for a lot of people now.

Some older customers now always have to go to Bad Tölz for Postbank business,” reports Kolbe.

According to him, a hearing aid shop will move into the premises on Bahnhofstrasse.

"But before that, there's probably still some construction work to be done," he says.

Kolbe himself also leaves the Isarwinkel with his business closure.

“My time here is over.

I'm moving back to Münsterland with my family and taking care of my parents," he explains.

After the shop closed on Wednesday evening, a few regular customers came to the branch and said goodbye to the post office operator over a drink.
