A two-year-old toddler was taken to the hospital today (Friday) in serious condition after being forgotten in a car in a parking lot in Kiryat Bialik.

MDA medics and paramedics arrived at the scene and gave the toddler medical treatment and evacuated her to Rambam Hospital while she was sedated and ventilated.

MDA paramedic Michael Babionishev and an emergency medicine medic at MDA Peleg Shalu said: "When we arrived at the street in the industrial area, we saw the girl outside the car when she was very hot to the touch and unconscious. We were told that she had been in the closed car for a long time. We gave her life-saving medical treatment which included cooling, fluids and medication and we evacuated her to the hospital in serious condition while she was breathing."

A few weeks ago, at the Rambam Hospital, they had to determine the death of a 3-year-old boy who was found unconscious in a closed vehicle, after apparently being forgotten in a settlement in the Megiddo Regional Council.

Magen David Adom medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene gave the child medical treatment.

They evacuated him to the Rambam Hospital while performing CPR on him and when he was in critical condition, but as mentioned, there they had to pronounce him dead.

Roi Par, an MDA paramedic who arrived at the scene, said: "This is a very difficult tragedy.

We saw near the car a child about 3 years old unconscious, without breathing and without a pulse with heat stroke.

We gave him medical treatment and performed advanced and prolonged CPR while trying to cool the body.

We evacuated him to the hospital while continuing resuscitation operations."
