An articulated bus went astray in Murnau on Friday morning.

He was stuck on the park path.

It took a while before a dedicated helper was able to maneuver the vehicle out of the impasse.

Murnau

- It wasn't until mid-September that there were problems with an articulated bus in Murnau.

Such a vehicle was heading towards Bad Kohlgrub.

The driver wanted to turn around at Dünaberg, but there wasn't enough space.

The bus hit a stone wall and became wedged.

An articulated bus also went astray on Friday.

The residents of the Parkweg were amazed at around 7.45 a.m. when they looked out of the window.

An articulated bus was parked in the turning loop – the Parkweg is a classic residential street that meanders past the Kurpark in the direction of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen-Munich railway line.

The cul-de-sac was fatal to a driver of the rail replacement service, which exists due to the track renovation.

Nothing worked anymore, the bus was stuck.

The man had driven up the moat

where, however, a construction site is currently blocking the way just below the Hotel Klausenhof.

He then steered into Parkweg, where he got into trouble.

It remains unclear why he drove up the moat at all.

In any case, good advice was expensive.

The shunting operation took a long time, a great help was an employee of a forwarding company who happened to be there.

In the meantime, the employees of the market community asked for help to open up the alternative driving options.

"Despite joining forces, instructions and maneuvering, it took about an hour for the bus to find its way back onto the sloping road," says Peter Glück, one of the residents.

Finally, at around 9.30 a.m., the bus driver was able to continue his journey in the now empty replacement bus.

The Murnau police also appeared around this time.

According to her, there was no damage, the case was over.

Annoyed passengers

The passengers - there were between six and eight - had meanwhile become too colorful.

Glück: "We were asked if we could not step in as a driving service, but this was also not possible given the blocked road and for insurance reasons." According to him, all but one passenger angrily made their way back to the starting point on foot Murnau train station.

Resident Glück draws the following conclusion: "Once again, the passengers of this rail replacement service have been affected and in some cases had to worry about their connections and further travel options." carried it with serenity.

"Then I'll just take the next opportunity to Mittenwald," the man said and walked away resigned.

A community action

Glück also appreciates the commitment of the local residents, the market community and the forwarding agent.

"Without this community action, there would probably have been property damage." The inevitable delays of residents on the way to work are annoying, but unavoidable in view of the blockage.

“Putting the ultimate blame on the bus drivers is not enough.

Because this rail replacement service has been taking far too long.”
