The Ministry of Agriculture will raise the level of risk of avian influenza - known as bird flu - in France on Saturday from "
negligible
" to "
moderate
", a source close to the ministry told AFP on Friday.
This increase will lead to the confinement of all poultry in 5,000 municipalities and of all waterfowl under 42 days old in 500 others, said the Confédération paysanne and Modef in a joint press release, denouncing "
absurd regulations
" because "
outdoor farming is not responsible for the epidemic
”.
