The next award awaits film music composer and violinist Martina Eisenreich from Maierklopfen: she will receive the Upper Bavarian Culture Prize 2022 on October 9th.

Maierklopfen - The award ceremony takes place in Kloster Seeon, the cultural and educational center of the district of Upper Bavaria.

Eisenreich can hardly believe it, as she writes on her website: "It's a huge honor - the winners range from my childhood heroes, Gustl Bayrhammer, Ottfried Preussler, Gerhard Polt to Willhelm Killmayer, Martina Schwarzmann and Loriot."

According to its press release, the district has been honoring personalities who have rendered outstanding services to cultural life in the region since 1980.

It is endowed with 5000 euros.

Eisenreich's laudator is Christian Ude, the former mayor of Munich.

Eisenreich, born in 1981, was accepted at the age of 15 as a young student of classical composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich.

There she studied composition for film and television as well as film music and sound design at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg.

In 2007, the first feature film with her music, “A Matter of Taste”, was released.

She also wrote soundtracks for TV crime thrillers - for the crime scene "Waldlust" she received the German Film Music Prize (Best Music in a Film) in 2018.

Eisenreich, who was also awarded the Culture Prize by the district of Erding, also composed the music for numerous radio plays. She can also celebrate success on stage.

As a violinist, she plays with her two ensembles: the Trio Lauschgold and the Martina Eisenreich Quartet.

Together with her husband, the drummer Wolfgang Lohmeier, she released several albums and concert programs.

Eisenreich teaches at the Munich Film School and also devotes himself to orchestral work and conducting.
