After four arrests, more details are now known.

Police on Thursday (September 29) confirmed the arrest of a 33-year-old prime suspect and three other men, aged 20, 28 and 33.

According to investigators, they are considered accomplices.

In addition, several apartments in Offenbach, Frankfurt and southern Hesse were searched.

In a shootout on Sunday evening, September 11, 48-year-old Aleksandar D. was killed and a 45-year-old man was seriously injured in the “Black Diamond” bar in Offenbach on Hebestrasse and Friedhofstrasse.

As a result, the Soko "Smaragd" was founded in the police headquarters in Southeast Hesse.

Although a planned execution was assumed shortly after the crime, it was groped in the dark for a long time because the surviving witness could not be questioned to this day, even though he is now stable.

Investigators say that film material from the bar's internal video surveillance was probably responsible for the rapid success of the investigation.

Dirk Schillhahn, spokesman for the competent public prosecutor's office in Darmstadt, confirms: "Such video material is available."

While the police officially only speaks of "previous disputes between a group of people and the person who was killed", the processes that evening were apparently much more complex.

A nasty argument is said to have broken out in the bar around 2 a.m. early Sunday morning.

A group of probably drunk men, according to a witness, provoked non-stop, broke bottles and bullied around.

When bar staff asked the men to leave Black Diamond, they started throwing glasses and bottles.

According to the investigators, these scenes are also recorded on the video material of the camera surveillance.

The pictures also showed that the bouncers had repeatedly tried to calm the rioters before they left the bar in anger.

Confronted with the witness' description of what was happening in the Black Diamond Bar, public prosecutor Dirk Schillhahn confirms that there was indeed stress with a group of visitors early in the morning of the same day.

Police sources say that the bouncers were guests in the bar again that evening.

According to witnesses, they appeared in the bar just 18 minutes before the assassination attempt.

A short time later, the shooter, a man with a dark cap, jeans and a black sweater, entered the bar.

He looked around briefly and then opened fire on the group.

It has not yet been finally clarified whether the perpetrator was one of the men who were involved in the argument the night before.

Public prosecutor Dirk Schillhahn at least does not want to confirm that.

That will continue to be investigated.

In the meantime, police circles have again learned that the investigators assume that the arrested man is in all probability a contract killer.

That is also one of the reasons why the special commission needed 18 days to arrest the possible perpetrator and his alleged helpers, despite the video recordings from the bar.

The public prosecutor only says so much: "The exact relationship between the parties involved is still the subject of the investigation."
