Beekeeping in the countryside of Al-Hasakah Governorate has become one of the small projects that farmers resort to to secure additional financial income, with the spread of training courses implemented by (livelihood) projects, with the support of the United Nations Development Program to enable them to do this profession and secure its requirements.

The profession of beekeeping has spread remarkably in the countryside of the governorate, specifically in the southern countryside of the city of Qamishli. The breeder Abdullah Al-Samou from the village of Tal Al-Dahab was working in raising honey bees, in addition to his work in agriculture for three years, but to no avail due to the lack of production and lack of knowledge The correct scientific way to take care of bees.

After Al-Samou underwent intensive courses at the Qabas Charitable Society, which implements (livelihood) projects on how to raise it, harvest production and market it, production increased and reached about 25 kilograms of honey during the month of August, and 8 kilograms this month from one cell, and it was marketed through An exhibition of food products held by a charitable association.

Breeder Deeb Al-Ahmad from the village of Dhabana in the countryside of Qamishli has been working in beekeeping for 20 years in primitive ways. He explained that the courses held by the (livelihood) project have changed many situations, because production is linked to correct beekeeping, and by following its methods, as he was able to possess easy and simple techniques for beekeeping. Including the method of placing the royal barrier, filtering honey, and the method of activating the cell.

Al-Ahmad pointed out to the difficulties of beekeeping represented by the migration of bees and the dry season that affected Al-Hasakah Governorate and affected agriculture and bee feeding, in addition to some diseases and parasites that affect the hive.

Beekeeping also caught the attention of women, as the nanny, Sumaya Al-Ali, revealed that she worked in this field as a hobby, to follow up later on acquiring skills and more effective ways to deal with beekeeping.

Al-Ali confirms that the basis for the success of the work is to follow the scientific instructions at work, indicating that it has harvested production four times during the current season, and in each harvest produced about 6 kilograms of honey, after overcoming obstacles, and discovering errors that were a major reason for the futility of beekeeping in the past and the lack of production.
