Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed that the European Union has permanently lost its independence, and that it is incurring heavy losses because of the United States of America.

During his speech at the meeting of intelligence chiefs of the CIS countries today, Lavrov added: "The West relies on the policy of "divide and rule" with regard to the countries of the former Soviet Union... The goal is absolutely clear: to break up communication among them and spread differences in our countries and among peoples to impose plans useless,” noting that the attempt to create “anti-Russian” in Ukraine is the greatest example of this.

Lavrov indicated that the policy of the West led to the arrival of Nazism to Kyiv, as they were providing the regime there with weapons in an attempt to sabotage Russia, as Ukraine turned into an anti-Russian foothold.

For his part, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev stressed during the meeting that the West is trying to use various tools in order to impose liberal hegemony, as it seeks to inflict the greatest possible harm on Russia, but the repercussions are clearly back on it.. He cited in this context the assertion of Russian President Vladimir Putin that the West is trying Always pressure on independent nations through hostilities.

Patrushev pointed out that Washington supports "demonstrations and the non-moderate opposition" in all countries to stir up extremist sentiments, and US institutions continue to exploit terrorist organizations to achieve their goals, considering that the terrorist bombing at the Russian embassy in the Afghan capital, Kabul, "motivates us to see how Washington supports terrorism."

On the fifth of this month, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the killing of two employees of the Russian Embassy in Afghanistan as a result of a terrorist explosion that occurred near its gate.

Regarding the incident of gas leakage from the “Northern Stream” pipelines, Patrushev considered that the United States is the main beneficiary of the gas pipeline explosions in the “Northern Stream”, calling for all efforts to be made to detect and identify the clients, those involved and the planners of these explosions.

In turn, the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, pointed out that Russia is working on exchanging experience among all its partners in the field of combating terrorism.
