Labour and management representatives of the Legislative Council refuted the fire again!
The "Occupational Safety and Health Legislation (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill" meeting held today (30th) discussed raising the maximum fine for "indictable offences" to $10 million.
At the meeting, a number of members spoke overtime, and a number of members with business backgrounds spoke overtime. The chairman of the committee, Lu Songxiong of the Federation of Trade Unions, reminded him that it would not lead to conflict, and many members left the venue to protest.

After several members spoke, Lu Chung-hsiung pointed out that there had been consensus after the previous meeting, and the members hoped that the Labour Department would clarify some issues, and hoped that when they spoke, they would focus on "following this issue" rather than restarting policy discussions.

Lu explained that he wanted to focus on the problem, and pointed out that the speech had gone off topic, and Chen Manqi retorted: "I am not far, Chairman! Lu Songxiong asked the officials to answer the next question, and Chen Manqi expressed his dissatisfaction: "Chairman! I'm so dissatisfied, I'm leaving!" This is not the first time that there has been a conflict between business and labor lawmakers in the Legislative Council. At a meeting on July 7 to discuss the two-year minimum wage review, many business and labor lawmakers quarreled.
