How is the traffic situation in the town center perceived, how could it be improved?

The Lenggrieser SPD wants to find out with an online survey.

Lenggries – The topic of traffic was repeatedly brought up to him and to members of the local association, said SPD local chairman Tobias Raphelt when the survey was presented.

The decision was made to actually find out what the people of Lenggries think and want.

"After all, we don't want to bypass the people in politics," says Raphelt.

“Of course I have my own opinion on the subject of traffic.

But I want to know how people see it.”

Survey includes 37 questions

The SPD members brooded over the questions for quite a while.

Some had to be deleted with a heavy heart in order not to let the whole thing become too long, adds Raphelt's deputy Franziska Baumann.

Even so, there are still 37 questions to be answered.

"We assume that it can be done in about 15 minutes," says Baumann.

There is a map at the beginning so that everyone knows exactly which area it is about.

The focus is on "the Lenggrieser Scheib'n", says Raphelt - i.e. the area between Marktstrasse, Tölzerstrasse, Münchnerstrasse, Schützenstrasse and Bahnhofstrasse.

For example, questions revolve around how often you visit the town center

The survey is then divided into several blocks.

The general part is about how often you visit the town center and what means of transport you usually use to get there.

But they are also asked about their own place of origin.

"But that's the most personal question and serves to enable us to better interpret the answers," says Raphelt.

Personal data would otherwise not be collected.

"All information is voluntary."

Participants should rate parking and safety, for example

In the other thematic blocks, evaluations should then be given from different perspectives.

How do drivers rate the parking facilities, how safe do they feel when they are driving.

That's what cyclists and e-bike riders are all about.

Pedestrians should, among other things, evaluate the crossing options.

Suggestions for improvement can also be incorporated

Another thematic block deals with safety on the way to school and accessibility.

This is not just about the pure assessment of the situation.

Suggestions can also be clicked or submitted, which would improve both things.

Later, the attractiveness, the signage or the parking situation in general should also be evaluated.

A separate block of topics is also dedicated to tradespeople.

With school grades they should evaluate different aspects.

Possible scenarios: pedestrian zone, 30 km/h or circular traffic

Since the evaluation of the survey should also lead to concrete measures, the participants can deal with possible scenarios.

Among other things, they are asked how they stand in relation to a pedestrian zone, bicycle lanes, a speed limit of 30 or a ring road with one-way traffic regulations in the town centre.

And since people have already been persuaded to click on boxes, the SPD also uses the platform for itself. The participants are asked on which topics they would also like surveys and whether the SPD should continue to offer them in the future.

Even those who do not have online access can participate

The survey is linked to www.spd-lenggries.de.

Anyone who does not have online access themselves but would like to take part can come to the Lenggries town hall on Saturday, October 1st, from 10 a.m.

The SPD will set up an information stand there "to invite citizens to dialogue," says Baumann.

"We also have tablets on which you can fill out the survey," adds Raphelt.

Lenggrieser SPD hopes for active participation

And what kind of feedback are you hoping for?

"1,000 participants would be great, 1,500 would be ideal," says the local manager.

You can participate until the end of October.

The SPD will take stock at the annual meeting on October 21st.

If possible, the final evaluation should take place in November.

The SPD would then like to present the results to the public.
