The solar park that the Penzberger Stadtwerke want to set up on the Gut Hub and Vordermeier site should have a higher output than previously planned.

A 3-megawatt system is now being aimed at.

That would be double the existing Penzberg solar park on both sides of the Penzberg-Bichl state road.

Penzberg – Penzberg's public utility company wants to start building the solar park on Gut Hub next spring, assuming everything goes smoothly beforehand.

This was confirmed by Stadtwerke board member André Behre this week on the sidelines of the city council meeting.

At the same time, he announced that the photovoltaic system, originally designed for around 2.7 megawatts peak, should now have 3 megawatts peak.

According to Behre, this happens with the same area consumption.

According to him, the higher performance should be achieved through the use of more powerful modules.

As reported, the solar park on Gut Hub is planned between the Vordermeier buildings and the railway line.

The development plan area for the solar park covers 3.8 hectares.

In it, just over 2.7 hectares are marked as an area on which solar panels may be erected.

The solar park in the south of Penzberg, which has existed since 2018, has an output of 1.5 megawatts

For comparison: the two solar parks on either side of the Penzberg-Bichl state road, which have been in existence since 2018, have a combined output of 1.5 megawatts.

The modules are there on a total area of 2.4 hectares.

In the building management process, the solar park plans cleared another hurdle this week.

The development plan draft "Solarpark Sonnenwiese" and the change in the land use plan were unanimously approved by the city council.

They will now be publicly displayed again.

No contradictions from the public

In a first round, the city council had received the statements from the authorities and associations.

There were no hints or contradictions from the public.

The government of Upper Bavaria explained that due to the local conditions it can be assumed that "neither the landscape nor the residential area will be excessively impaired", but care should be taken to ensure that the integration is "careful".

The Bund Naturschutz agreed to the measure in order to quickly expand renewable energies.

From his point of view, however, it would be better for the forest kindergarten's area requirements and the ecological condition if the solar park were not built.

The Bund Naturschutz (Bund Naturschutz) evaluated the plan to develop a species-rich extensive meadow and a species-rich, stepped forest edge with herbs and meadows as positive.

Sheep in the solar farm

The municipal utility is also considering letting sheep graze the area, as is the case at the solar park on the road to Bichl.

In response to the district office's proposal to also allow small cattle, it was said that the distance between the lower edge of the panels and the floor was too small for this.
