Citizens in Iran have been protesting for two weeks.

The trigger was the death of a young woman who was allegedly killed by the vice squad.

A German was also arrested.

Tehran – Iran has been demonstrating against the government and moral police for more than two weeks.

There have already been numerous arrests and deaths.

Head of state Raisi threatened "decisive" action.

Now, apparently, a German was also arrested during the demonstrations in the Islamic Republic, according to Iran's own statements.

Protests in Iran: Nine foreign nationals arrested

A total of nine foreign nationals were detained during protests.

According to the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence on Friday, at least one German is among them.

The nationals from Germany, Poland, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and other countries were arrested "on the spot" or were "involved in the unrest".

The protests, in which hackers have also joined the activists, followed the death of 22-year-old Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini.

Amini was arrested by the moral police in Tehran two and a half weeks ago, apparently because she had not worn the Islamic headscarf in accordance with the rules.

According to activists, she is said to have been beaten by the police and later died in hospital as a result.

Since then there have been repeated protests in Iran, against which the security forces have taken violent action.

, on the other hand, reported around 60 deaths.

The non-governmental organization Amnesty International on Friday accused Iran of deliberately using deadly force to suppress the ongoing protests.

The organization said it was able to confirm the deaths of 52 people during the protests, but the total number is likely higher.

According to an official document leaked to Amnesty, the commander of the armed forces in Masandaran province instructed his subordinates to "act mercilessly, even to the point of causing death, against any kind of riots by rioters and anti-revolutionaries," the organization said.

Meanwhile, Tehran continued to take action against supporters from the fields of culture, journalism and sport.

And it's not just about the headscarf.
