Nine children aged three to 10 are affected by these refusals of schooling, said Me Anna Stoffaneller, the lawyer who represents the families concerned alongside a group of mothers living in slums, squats or social hotels.

Letters of formal notice were sent Thursday to the towns of Bondy, Le Blanc-Mesnil, Pierrefitte-sur-Seine and L'Ile-Saint-Denis, as well as to the prefecture of the department and the rectorate of Créteil, a- she indicated.
