District – Prime Minister Markus Söder awarded the Bavarian Rescue Medal to 37 and the Christophorus Medal to 36 people during a ceremony in the Munich Residence on September 26.
Among them were seven citizens from the district of Fürstenfeldbruck.
The Bavarian Rescue Medal is awarded to anyone who risked their own life to save someone from mortal danger.
Franziska Hufnagel from Fürstenfeldbruck saved an unconscious girl from a swimming pool in the Amperoase in 2020 when she was twelve.

In 2020, Stefan Lindermayr from Grafrath and Uta Thilo from Olching helped a stand-up paddler who was in danger of drowning in the Amper.
Thilo was awarded the Christophorus Medal, which is awarded in particularly difficult rescue circumstances.
Police officer Dominic Lutz was awarded for rescuing a woman who tried to commit suicide in Amper in 2021.

Prime Minister Söder paid tribute to the honorees: “They saved lives with selfless deeds and are sending signs of hope and optimism.
Rescue is not a question of age or profession.
The youngest was only nine years old.
Thanks to the new winners of the rescue and Christophorus medals.”
