The activities of “Syrian Cinema Days” will start next Sunday in the Omani capital, Muscat, where a series of feature films produced by the General Organization for Cinema will be shown.
The cinematic days are held under the patronage of Dr. Mona bint Fahd Al Said, Assistant President of Sultan Qaboos University for International Cooperation, and organized by the Omani Society for Cinema and Theater, in cooperation with the Syrian Embassy in Amman.
The first day includes an official opening ceremony and the presentation of a short film about Syria, prepared by the Omani side, and the screening of the movie “Dam Al Nakhl,” followed by a dialogue session with director Najdat Anzour, interviewed by media personality Ahmed Al-Azki, on the impact of Syrian drama and cinema on the Arab world.
On the second day, the film “The Last Breakfast” by director Abdel Latif Abdel Hamid will be shown, followed by a dialogue session with Mohamed Al-Salmi, head of the restoration department at the National Documents and Manuscripts Authority, and plastic artist Fadi Masrizadeh.
On the third day of the activities, the movie “Dark Clouds” directed by Ayman Zidan will be shown, followed by a dialogue session in which Syrian director Noureddine Al-Hashemi and Omani poet Hilal Al-Siyabi will participate.
The events will conclude on the fifth of next month with the screening of the movie “The Morning Star” directed by Joud Saeed, followed by a closing dialogue session in which Dr. Hamid Al Ameri, President of the Omani Society for Cinema and Theater, journalist Naim Taher, and Omani director and producer Mohammed Al Kindi will participate.
All performances are held at the Oman Film and Theater Association headquarters.
