The European Union reacted today (Friday) to Russia's annexation of Ukrainian territories and accused Moscow of endangering global security through its actions.
In a statement published by the President of the European Union, Orbula von der Leyen, on behalf of all the members of the Union, it was said: "We do not recognize and will never recognize the illegal referendums that Russia engineered as a justification for another violation of Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and not their fake and illegal results."

"We will never recognize this illegal annexation. These decisions (regarding the annexation) are null and void and cannot have any legal implications. Crimea, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Jones and Luhansk are Ukraine. We call on all countries and international organizations to reject This illegal annexation is ambiguous.'

Earlier today, agreements were signed in Moscow regarding the admission of four new territories to the Russian Federation.
These are the "republics" of Donetsk and Luhansk, which were established with the unofficial guidance and assistance of Russia back in 2014, and territories from Zaporizhzhia and Kherson districts, which Russia has held since the invasion in February of this year.
