During a traffic check on the A8 motorway, a driver from the Augsburg district revealed that his glassy eyes revealed that he was driving under the influence of drugs.
As reported by the Holzkirchen motorway police, the officials stopped a Mercedes Sprinter in the direction of Salzburg at around 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday, which was apparently too heavily loaded.
When checking the highway police premises, the officials noticed that the 24-year-old craftsman had a very glazed look.
Various tests such as the light reaction of the pupils confirmed the suspicion, so that a urine test was carried out.
This confirmed the assumption of the officials that the native Syrian was under the influence of drugs.
A blood draw was ordered to determine the exact level and type of narcotics consumed.
If the investigation confirms the initial suspicion, there is a risk of a fine of 500 euros and a month's driving ban.
The man was forbidden to continue driving.
Also still on the wanted list
When the complaint was recorded, it was also determined that the driver and his passenger, a 22-year-old Syrian, had wanted notices from the police.
These searches were sent to the issuing authorities.
After changing drivers and reloading, the two craftsmen were then able to continue the journey to a construction site on Lake Chiemsee.
20-year-old reacts indignantly
Then around 9.30 p.m. the next drug trip – and again it was the glazed look that betrayed the driver.
This had been stopped by the police at the Holzkirchen-Süd tank and rest area.
At the same time, the 20-year-old from the Rosenheim district was a little annoyed because he thought he was the only one constantly being stopped and checked.
When asked about contact with drugs, the craft trainee replied that consumption was a long time ago - his pupils refuted that.
Caught a week before
Here, too, a urine test was carried out, which clearly confirmed the suspicion.
When the blood was ordered, the young man said that "we" already had it: He had been stopped in the Rosenheim city area a week earlier.
At the time, he was suspected of driving under the influence of drugs.
The officials therefore informed him that two trips were two acts.
The concentration of narcotics in the blood at the time of the crime also counts – it had to be determined.
If the suspicion is confirmed in both trips, the fine will be doubled in the second case.
There is also a three-month driving ban.
Info at driver's license office
Both the Syrian and the Rosenheimer report to the driver's license office independently of the police report, since it is necessary to check the extent to which they are mentally fit to drive motor vehicles.
