The exhibition (Syrian Sculptors), currently held at the Blue House Gallery in Damascus, constitutes an important artistic and visual dialogue between the works of several generations belonging to contemporary Syrian plastic art.
The exhibition, in which 20 sculptors and sculptors participate with one work for each of them, summarizes important experiences in contemporary Syrian sculpture, and summarizes the extent of development in this art on both the intellectual and aesthetic levels.
The diversity in styles, materials and topics of the presented works is in harmony with the multiplicity of generations to which the participants belong, which created a state of visual richness in a heritage Damascene space in which the originality of the past was united with the beauty of the present.
Regarding the exhibition, Samer Eid, director of the Blue House Gallery, said in a statement to SANA reporter: We chose to present an exhibition specialized in the art of sculpture, due to the distinction of this art in the contemporary Syrian plastic movement, and its connection with our ancient civilizations. Eid explained that the selection of sculptors and sculptors was based on the importance of their artistic experiences, intellectually and artistically, with the diversity of their affiliations for several generations, which created a state of cultural and aesthetic dialogue between the participants, while providing a rich artistic meal to the public to learn about the importance of contemporary Syrian sculpture, and its connection with sculpture arts in Syrian civilizations. The sculptors and sculptors Aktham Abdel Hamid, Ihsan Al-Err, Aksam Salloum, Amal Al-Zayat, Ziad Qat, Hussam Nasra, Safa Al-Sit, Adel Khader, Ola Hilal, Issa Qazah, Fouad Dahdouh, Mustafa Ali, Ghazwan Allaf, Kinana Al-Koud, Manaf Hassan, Hala Al-Jari and Wael will participate in the exhibition, which continues until the 11th of next October.
