“The whole package is just right”: Vhs Neufahrn-Hallbergmoos registers more registrations than ever before

The adult education center manager for Neufahrn and Hallbergmoos, Susanne Arndt, brought good news to the annual meeting.

It was the first in three years.

- At the start of the semester, the Neufahrn-Hallbergmoos adult education center invited its teachers to the annual meeting - the first since 2019 due to the corona virus. More than 50 lecturers accepted the invitation and were able to get to know the Fürholzen community center - "a modern seminar house , which has been used by the adult education center since last year," said the spokeswoman for the adult education center, Ines Seidel.

The past two years have been a time of innovation

At the beginning, Vhs director Susanne Arndt reviewed the events of the past two years, which was a time of innovation.

It began with switching to online offers during the Corona period and included targeted changes to the program and website.

These were also made necessary by the merger of the adult education centers in Neufahrn and Hallbergmoos in January 2021.

The Vhs Neufahrn-Hallbergmoos is currently happy about the response to the ongoing program: "We have more registrations than ever before at this point in time, the overall package is just right," summarized Arndt.

The overall package, as the Vhs director explained, consists of competent lecturers, attractive courses and events, appealing communication and a flexible team behind the scenes.

One sees a great interest in educational events among the local citizens, and there is also a growing demand for socio-political and cultural educational offers.

Taxation is a big issue at all adult education centers

A topic that all adult education centers are currently occupied with is taxation.

Due to a new legal regulation, events that were previously exempt from VAT are potentially subject to VAT, provided they are not related to vocational training.

That could make many courses more expensive.

The concrete effects are still in flux.

The cookery lecturer Erika Hinterberger, Wolfgang Voigt, who runs the men's gymnastics, and Kurt Steinacher, course leader for art courses, were honored.

All three have been working for the Vhs for more than three or four decades.
