An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 was recorded this Saturday in the Manuel Ávila Camacho municipality in the state of Chiapas in Mexico, reported the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The earthquake was reported southwest of Pijijiapan, Chiapas.

According to USGS, the movement was registered at 11:36 am (local time).

Until this Saturday, local authorities did not report victims or damage related to the earthquake.
