Vegan dishes are becoming increasingly popular.

However, the meatless alternatives are not so well received at the Wiesn – especially among celebrities.

Munich – In addition to the mass of beer and the rides, most Wiesn visitors are probably drawn to the Oktoberfest because of the numerous delicacies that can be tasted there.

In addition to the classic chicken or roast ox, there are also expensive dishes such as half an organic duck for over 50 euros.

This year, some tents are also offering something completely new and in line with the spirit of the times: vegan white sausages.

How many of the meatless alternatives have already made their way over the counter is unclear.

In any case, the alternative product is not well received by celebrities.

Wiesn 2022: Vegan white sausages fail Bavaria's Agriculture Minister Kaniber

Recently, Minister of Agriculture Michaela Kaniber (CSU) dared to try the sausage alternative, which for every Bavarian is probably close to sacrilege.

As the

writes, the vegan white sausage was even brought to a tent on the Oide Wiesn so that she could try it.

But even with the smell test, all facial features derailed from the CSU politician.

She then expressed visibly disgusted: "The smell and the consistency of the product alone made it impossible for me to eat it."

As soon as the vegan white sausages were brought to your table, cracks formed on the surface.

"It's just a strangely compressed mass," she stated at the sight.

The Minister of Agriculture, who has been to the Wiesn quite a few times this year, as her posts on her Instagram profile suggest, was also not clear why anyone would want to eat such an alternative.

"I don't understand why a vegan would want to eat something that looks like a sausage.

I made a conscious decision not to eat meat," she put in the

Wiesn 2022: Cabaret artist Monika Gruber doesn't like the vegan Weißwust either

The CSU politician is not alone in her opinion.

Cabaret artist Monika Gruber also doesn't think much of the meatless sausage alternative.

She also said of the

: "Vegan white sausages taste like assembly foam that was filled into a condom, with a slight lime note in the finish." However, compared to Kaniber, Gruber knows what she is talking about.

She even tried a piece of the vegan white sausage in a BR Wiesn show.

And she, too, immediately noticed the unappetizing appearance of the sausage.

"I was afraid we'd have to eat this.

It looks like pressed sawdust."
