The unit (Wentian) of the Chinese space station completed the process of being positioned in the orbital position yesterday evening, in an operation that lasted about one hour, in cooperation between astronauts and specialists on the ground.
It is the first time that China has completed the orbital positioning of a large-sized spacecraft cabin through the use of transportation facilities, Xinhua quoted the Chinese Space Agency as saying.
During the orbital positioning process, the Wentian module completed its positioning before separating from the Tianhe module, the main unit of the space station. After that, the Wentian module was repositioned, and then docked with the side port of the node compartment of the space station.
