The through road in Deiningen is being renovated for four million euros - that means two years of complete closure.

The diversion is extensive.

Egling - Something's coming up for Deining: From next spring, the through road will be completely closed.

The reason for this is a refurbishment, which is urgently needed and has been discussed for many years.

Now it's getting serious.

The residents of Deininger, but also all residents of Eglinger and those from outside, will have to cope with the exceptional situation for at least two years.

"It's a huge challenge, we all have to be aware of that," explained Mayor Hubert Oberhauser on Thursday evening at an information event at the Jägerwirt in Aufhofen, which was attended by around 80 locals.

They wanted to know what to expect.

Even if that is not yet certain down to the last detail.

Egling: Complete closure of the through road in Deining due to renovation

In his introductory words, the head of the town hall explained why implementation was a long time coming.

"There was a long water law process, the permit came in May 2020," he explained.

In essence, it was about protecting the Moos area in the direction of Deiniger Weiher, which is now to be guaranteed with two oil traps in the Moosbach.

In addition, it was and is imperative that the Schäftlarner Berg is available as an alternative route - but it didn't do that due to slope movements after continuous rain, it was closed for months.

After all, now is the time when the Free State's funds will be released.

The gross costs are around four million euros.

Graduate engineer Andreas Schröder from ABWA Plan explained that there is no sensible alternative to a complete closure.

Because: The winding road makes a half-way closure practically impossible.

Going through the measure in two years means "time and cost savings".

He advocated outsourcing the work to a single company, also in order to achieve a lower price.

Deininger through road closed: large-scale diversion via Grünwald

From spring 2023, the construction site will extend from the southern entrance to Hornsteiner Straße.

2024, maybe even 2025, from Hornsteiner Straße to the northern end of town.

The diversion should take place on a large scale via Grünwald, for residents via Sachsenhausen and Hornstein.

The expert assured that the "accessibility of the adjoining properties is largely ensured".

The engineer appealed to the citizens to stick to the official routes and not to look for shortcuts.

"The police will stop by regularly."

From his mouth, your family also learned what was actually going on.

The renewal of the state road over a length of 1.2 kilometers and a width of around 6.50 meters is key.

"The road will be excavated to a depth of 70 centimeters," he said.

So it's a total renewal from the ground up.

A modern rainwater sewer, a drinking water pipe and pipes for the broadband expansion will also be laid.

"Fiber optics may come in, but I can't say anything definitive about that yet," says Oberhauser.

There is good news when it comes to sidewalks: they will not only be rebuilt, but rebuilt on the eastern side between Moosstrasse and Bergstrasse.

"This is not only for safety, but also gives a uniform, good appearance."

The Deiningers had a few questions.

One was aimed at whether it would not be possible to install a roundabout at the junction of Moosstrasse and Talstrasse.

"Unfortunately I have to play the spoilsport there," says Stefan Vogt from the State Building Authority.

"We are simply forbidden to install braking elements without compelling reasons."
