The tiny island of Sanibel, off the southwest coast of Florida, was a tourist paradise straight out of a magazine cover.
Everything changed on Wednesday with the devastating passage of Hurricane Ian, which pulverized its luxurious hotels, sent boats and yachts flying, and erased tennis courts, swimming pools, businesses and homes from the map.
Debris left behind by the powerful cyclone makes Sanibel look more like a "war zone" today.
