The gas allocation has tipped.

Customers of regional gas suppliers must now take this into account.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – It was actually supposed to be introduced on October 1st.

On Thursday, however, Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Economics Minister Robert Habeck and Finance Minister Christian Lindner announced that the planned gas levy had been overturned.

This is also causing uncertainty among the customers of the regional gas suppliers.

Gas surcharge tipped: Increased advance payments are still included

The "17er Oberlandenergie" - under this umbrella brand, among others, the Stadtwerke Bad Tölz, Wolfratshausen and Geretsried gas - announces that the announced increased payments on October 5 will be collected anyway.

The same applies to customers who have concluded their contract directly with Stadtwerke Bad Tölz.

"All the technically necessary processes for collecting the levies were completed under high pressure and can no longer be reversed in the short term," write the managing directors of "17er Oberlandenergie", Thomas Feistl and Stephanie Grill.

They ask for your understanding that the company cannot react at such short notice.

Stadtwerke spokeswoman: Information and legal certainty are missing

As Stadtwerke spokeswoman Martina Geisberger adds, there is also a lack of information and legal certainty.

The withdrawal of the gas levy has so far only been announced at a press conference, but has not yet been decided in the Bundestag.

According to the "17ers", there are no statements on the gas storage levy and the balancing levy, which were also included in the new advance payments.

"It must be assumed that these surcharges will remain in the amounts already communicated." A final decision is pending, not least on what the planned temporary reduction in value added tax for gas supply looks like from 19 to 7 percent.

Excess money paid will be offset against the annual statement

"We understand well that the different allocations and the spontaneous changes made by our federal government lead to confusion," says the message from the "17er".

"These are challenging and stressful for all of us." "17er" and Stadtwerke assure that any overpaid amounts paid in advance would "of course" be offset against the annual statement at the end of the year.

They ask you not to cancel the direct debits that will be used to debit the October down payment.

Stadtwerke spokeswoman Geisberger: "We will of course bill fairly and transparently as soon as we have the exact facts on the table."
