Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially announced today the launch of 5G services in a number of cities in the country.
Indian media quoted Modi as saying at the Sixth Indian Mobile Conference: "Today 1.3 billion Indian citizens will get (the 5G) as a gift...Our government is working towards the goal of providing internet for all."
The Prime Minister noted that in the past, the government also encouraged 4G services in India, which led to a drop in the prices of communication technologies and the start of a new digital revolution.
India is expected to earn at least 450 billion dollars by 2035, through the development of fifth generation technologies, according to the Indian authorities, as the services of this generation will be gradually launched in various cities of the country.
