Former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is still the big favorite in the presidential election in Brazil, which he could even win in the first round, according to the poll published by the Datafolha institute on Saturday evening, on the eve of the ballot.
The data published by the reference institute are stable compared to those of the survey published Thursday.
Lula, leader of the left, would obtain 50% of the valid votes (excluding null and white) against 36% for his direct opponent, the far-right president Jair Bolsonaro, according to the poll.
A candidate must reach the threshold of 50% plus one vote to be elected in the first round, and avoid the second round scheduled for October 30.
