Nasrallah added that if the issue of the maritime border is resolved, the one who will benefit is the Lebanese people. "We hope that the issue of the maritime border will end well," said Nasrallah.

Today it was announced that the United States Ambassador in Beirut Dorothy Shea met with the President of Lebanon Michel Awan and the Prime Minister of Lebanon Najib Mikati and handed them the draft agreement to mark the maritime border with Israel.



According to reports in the Lebanese media, Evan was expected to hold a meeting during the day with Prime Minister Mikati and Speaker of the Parliament Navia Berri to discuss the draft agreement. In the meantime, Evan spoke on the phone with the two and held a preliminary consultation with them regarding the draft agreement. He also discussed with them the need to return Answer to the United States as soon as possible.



Later on, the draft is expected to go to the Lebanese government's team of experts who will go over it and submit their recommendations to the political level in Lebanon.



About a week and a half ago, National Security Adviser Eyal Hulta and Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alon Oshfiz met in New York with the American envoy Amos Hochstein, who mediates between Israel and Lebanon on the issue of the maritime border between the countries. The parties discussed the draft agreement, which Hochstein is formulating. Later, the American Secretary of State Tony Blinken will meet with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati to discuss the draft agreement with him.



President Biden's senior adviser on Middle East affairs, Brett McGurk, also participated in Hochstein's meeting with Holta and Ashfiz. The Prime Minister's Office said that "the meeting was good and productive."
