The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this evening (Saturday) that following a discussion with the management of Booking.com, the threat of the negative identification of the West Bank and/or Israeli-owned territories in Judea and Samaria has been removed from the company's platform.
Bokang Global Company intended to add a warning that would have defined the settlements as occupied territory, and the visit to the West Bank territories as "accompanied by an increased risk to safety and human rights".
This warning, the Foreign Ministry statement said, will not be issued.
A few weeks ago, the company made a decision to include the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, as part of its new marking policy based on a general statement that "attention should be drawn to the existing travel warnings for these areas for reasons of personal safety".
The company's new marking policy will apply to approximately 40 disputed areas around the world, and will apply to the entire West Bank region as a single geographic unit.
However, the threat of defining the settlements as occupied territory has been removed, as well as the uniqueness of the West Bank as an area where visiting is a violation of human rights.
Properties owned by Israelis will not be singled out for harm.

The Ministry of Tourism also participated in the moves to prevent the initiative.
In a tweet published by Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov after the announcement of the company's intention, it was written: "I called on the global booking company to withdraw from the scandalous decision. We held emergency discussions, and at the end of the consultation with Prime Minister Yair Lapid, we decided on steps that would prevent the marking of the tourist sites in Judea and Samaria, including an official appeal that I issued to the company Global Booking. It is not possible for a private company to submit to BDS and take sides in a political conflict, without knowing the facts.
Today Razvozov wrote on Twitter: "An important achievement of the State of Israel.
We prevented Booking from publishing false information against Israel and against Israeli tourism businesses in Judea and Samaria.
We have proven that Israel has the ability to act and win in the political arena, and I am sure that we will continue to do so in the future in the face of any attempt to harm us."
