The United States Ambassador in Beirut Dorothy Shea met today (Saturday) with the President of Lebanon Michel Evan and handed him the draft agreement to mark the maritime border with Israel.
According to reports in the Lebanese media, Evan will hold a meeting during the day with the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, and the Speaker of the Parliament, Nabia Berri, to discuss the draft agreement. Later, the draft agreement will be forwarded to the Lebanese government's team of experts, who will go over it and submit their recommendations to the political level in Lebanon.
The news agency also reported the Lebanese that the President of Lebanon spoke on the phone with Prime Minister Mikati and Speaker of the Parliament Beri and held a preliminary consultation with them regarding the draft of the agreement.
Evan discussed with the two the need to give an answer to the United States as soon as possible.
