The man also stopped responding to Ortiz, but the two women continued to write to each other, exchanged photos to certify that they had the same boyfriend, and even told each other where they left their toothbrush in their bathroom when they stayed over at his house, or how he even got to know their families.

They both broke off their relationship with him.

"He played with us," Ortiz said.

"I'm sorry I did this to you," one wrote. "I'm sorry I did this to you," the other replied. And after consoling each other, they decided to turn the page. But Bistline told Ortiz about her trip to Costa Rica, that he had already paid. And he decided to invite her. "I didn't want to go alone," she told the aforementioned newspaper, "I thought it would probably help both of us to make a trip like that. We deserve it."

"We need a vacation after this," Ortiz told her after agreeing to her proposal to travel to Costa Rica together, which at first had made her think Bistline was a little crazy.

Before the trip, the two women met the man by surprise.

Bistline planned the meeting, but instead of going by herself, she took Ortiz with her.

"She started giggling awkwardly," she recounted Bistline.

The two women spent four days visiting jungles and waterfalls, healing their feelings.

“You always have to listen to your intuition,” added Ortiz.
