So far, there is no unpackaged shop at Tegernsee.

But thanks to a cooperation project, packaging-free groceries can now be ordered in advance from the Boarhof in Holz.

Bad Wiessee/Bad Tölz

– If you want to produce little packaging waste and only buy what you need, you are welcome to use the offer of unpackaged shops.

At Tegernsee there is no such business so far.

"At the moment, that doesn't go together with the rents that are being asked in the valley," says Markus Bogner from the Boarhof in the Wiesseer district of Holz.

Thanks to a cooperation that Bogners Biohof has now entered into with the Tölz unpackaged shop "Ois ohne", those interested from the valley can now get unpackaged products on site.

Boarhof and Tölzer unpacked shop: "The perfect symbiosis"

"It's a perfect symbiosis," says Sabine Riesch, managing director of the shop "Ois ohne" in Tölzer Hindenburgstrasse, which is run by a cooperative.

She and the Bogner family from the Boarhof met more or less by chance.

Riesch likes to stop off at the Hofcafé am Tegernsee, the Bogners regularly do their shopping in the Tölzer Unverpackt store.

The topics of sustainability, regionality and quality are important to both companies.

So the idea came up that the Tölz store would deliver its products – primarily pasta, rice, muesli, flour, spices and cleaning products – to the Boarhof, where customers could pick up the goods after pre-ordering.

The benefits: less packaging waste and less wasted food

"I had had the idea of offering such goods in our farm shop for a long time," says Markus Bogner.

For him, the advantages are obvious: On the one hand, the consumer does not produce any packaging waste, on the other hand, less food would end up in the bin, “because the customer buys exactly the amount he needs”.

The creation of an unpackaged offer at the Boarhof has so far failed due to the lack of space.

Bogner is therefore pleased that his farm now serves as a distribution point for goods from the neighboring district.

Regional and good quality is in the foreground

Riesch is also convinced that one can benefit from the other: "What they have, we don't have - and vice versa." While the Tölz shop primarily offers dry goods, the Bogners sell fresh groceries such as fruit, vegetables, bread and pastries, eggs , cheese and sausage as well as a lot more over the counter.

Organic or regional quality - and both companies have this in common - are in the foreground.

Pre-order online and then pick up the goods at the Boarhof

And this is how the cooperation works: Interested customers from the Tegernsee region can order the goods from "Ois ohne" via the homepage www.oisohne.de/boarhof.

A product list and an order form are available here.

Customers can then send their order by e-mail to beangebote@oisohne.de and transfer the money in advance or after receipt of the goods.

If you order your goods by Tuesday, 12 p.m., you can then pick them up from the farm shop in Holz during the opening hours of the Boarhof (Thursday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.).

"We provide the goods individually for the customers," says Riesch.

They are then delivered directly to Lake Tegernsee.

The cooperation project will initially run until November of this year.

"If there is enough interest, it should be further expanded and professionalized,"

Unpackaged store hopes to attract new customers

She hopes the cooperation will give the Tölz store a new boost, which opened in spring 2019.

Because things haven't always gone smoothly with the unpackaged concept in the end - "and we're not out of the crisis yet," says Riesch.

She hopes that the new distribution station at Lake Tegernsee will also open up new customer groups.
