For many decades, the art of Palestinian caricature has been one of the most prominent expressive means depicting the suffering of the Palestinian people and their continuous movement, in order to extract their freedom and restore their stolen rights. An exhibition of the art of caricature, entitled (Gilboa Tunnel.. The Road to Jerusalem), embodying the suffering of the prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons.

The exhibition included approximately 140 caricatures by artists around the world, collected by social media, and embodies the Palestinian reality. Most of the paintings depicted the cactus plant, which meant a lot to one of the prisoners.

The exhibition created a unity of interrelationship between resistance and art, as did Naji Al-Ali, when he embodied the resistance of the Palestinian people with his caricatures.

The director of the Mohajat Al-Quds Foundation, lawyer Nadim Al-Ajouri, confirmed that this exhibition is being held on the occasion of the first anniversary of the liberation of a number of prisoners from Gilboa prison, through a tunnel dug with a spoon. The most prominent issue, explaining that there are thirty prisoners on hunger strike today in the prisons of the occupation, in protest of its crimes and violations against them.

The official of popular organizations and unions in the Palestinian Jihad Movement, Dr. Dirar al-Kusa, pointed out that the exhibition confirms that the prisoners in the occupation prisons are the icon of the revolutionary struggle, and the owners of the steely will who face injustice with their free bodies and their unbreakable solid will, and they are still an integral part of the headlines of confrontation with The Zionist enemy, showing the importance of art in conveying the message of the Palestinian right to every free and honorable person in this world.

The head of the Union of Palestinian Plastic Artists in Syria, Abdel Muti Abu Zaid, said: The exhibition sheds light on the struggle of the Palestinian people and their attempt to break the restrictions of the occupation, wishing that there would be more illuminations through exhibitions and seminars on the issues of prisoners in particular.

The released prisoner Ali Younis, head of the Committee to Support the Released and Detained Prisoners in the Israeli Occupation Prisons, pointed out that their participation today in this exhibition confirms that the prisoners’ will is stronger than all barbed wire, high fences and watchtowers, stressing that our heroic prisoners are able to wrest their freedom from The Zionist terrorist entity.
