The As-Suwayda Agriculture Directorate has developed a plan to plant more than 89 thousand hectares with winter crops and vegetables for the 2022-2023 agricultural season.
The Director of Agriculture, Engineer Ayham Hamed, explained in a statement to SANA reporter today that the plan includes planting areas of 89,245 hectares, distributed as: 88,325 hectares for rainfed crops, and 920 hectares for irrigated crops, and it was approved based on the cultivable areas and the number of wells, in a manner that serves to achieve productivity of various crops. agricultural.
Hamed pointed out that the plan includes 15 types of winter crops and vegetables, and in its adoption, the availability of production requirements needed to be implemented on time was taken into account.
The areas planted with vegetables and winter crops last season reached 77,928 hectares.
