Deputy Mayor Maria Wirnitzer, who is a landscape architect by profession, was particularly in favor of the lawn steps.

Headwind came from the local fire brigade and the Junge Union.

With the lowering, the popular midsummer bonfire and the straw bale pool are in danger.

The fire brigade argued that there was a kind of chimney effect that could be dangerous for visitors.

The Junge Union, which organizes the well-attended straw bale pool during the summer holidays, also saw logistics problems.

At the time, both groups announced that the events would end if the Bürgerpark were to be laid out in this form.
