2022-10-02T17:31:21.051Z

Hammer, nail, we'll take it fast? You made the Israelis laugh - most consumers buy ready-made, very convenient, but expensive Sukkots • Prices: NIS 2,800-886 • "There is a tendency to buy larger Sukkots"

Remember the times when we would build a sukkah from planks that we would collect, from fabrics that we had and from decorations that we would make ourselves?

So those days are long gone, and today most consumers buy ready-made sukkats, very convenient - but expensive.

According to Zap data, in the last week there was a 60% increase in searches for ready-made Sukkots.

Sukkot Nahalim, the largest Sukkot company in Israel, is preparing for record demand for the holiday, according to her, due to the desire of many Israelis to celebrate the holiday with family.

Among other things, the company offers the "multi-window sukkah", which includes a 360° window along the sides of the sukkah that allows air to enter it.

Sukkot prices vary.

For example, at Sukkot Nahalim, prices range from NIS 886 to NIS 2,800.

For example: the price of the Sukkot Nahalim "All Inclusive" Sukkot, 2x3 m of cotton fabric including the illustration of the seven species, is NIS 1,316 to NIS 1,716.

The price of a 3x3 m sukkah made of high-quality, breathable cotton fabric with the illustration "And spread over us your sukkah of peace", ranges from NIS 1,629 to NIS 2,154.

"We didn't raise prices"

According to Shay Elitzur, CEO of Sukkot Nahalim, "We see from the orders in the stores that there is an increase in sales of sukkots, both in terms of the number of sukkots and in terms of their size.

There is a tendency to buy larger Sukkots.

In the past, the average sukkah was 2x3 m in size, which is suitable for six to eight people.

Today, they prefer sukkots of 3x4 m, which fit 12 people comfortably, and 3x5 m, which fit about 15 people."

To the question of whether they expected an increase in sales this year, Elitzur answers: "Everyone feels a little bit of the economic pressure, and there is even a smell of an approaching recession. Therefore, despite the increase in raw materials, this was part of our consideration this year, and we did not raise the prices. We realized that it is more difficult now , and we kept the price the same as last year. I think people are giving us a hug back.

"An average sukkah costs more than NIS 1,000. It's an expense, but people calculate that it lasts 20 years."

Where is the cheapest?

In the "Max Stock" network, you can find a 3x3 m modular folding sukkah, including fabric and felt tape, for 399 NIS, and at a special price for "Friends of Max" - 299 NIS.

In addition, you can find a "Sukot Hadar" children's gazebo online for NIS 69, a Mahdrin thatch for NIS 189, and a children's coloring gazebo, 50x50 cm, for NIS 20.
