From the beginning of 2027, 5,400 households in Lenggries will be able to access fast internet.
Telekom announced this in a press release.
Lenggries - Accordingly, Telekom will start fiber optic expansion in Brauneckdorf in 2025.
"The new network will be so powerful that working and learning at home, video conferences, surfing and streaming will be possible at the same time," the letter says.
The maximum speed when downloading data is 1 gigabit per second, when uploading 200 megabits per second.
This would also allow companies to react to the growing demands.
"For Lenggries, this extensive expansion is an incredibly important building block for our future, and I am very pleased to be able to drive this expansion forward together with Telekom.
Bandwidth is as important today as gas, water and electricity,” says Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher.
The Lenggries expansion area is therefore attractive as a place to live and work for all generations.
High speeds and your own connection are important, stresses Norbert Kreier, regional manager at Deutsche Telekom.
"After all, everything should be stable in the WiFi at home and at work." He recommends planning the cabling in the house right from the start.
Telekom is happy to help with this.
