Five miners were killed and two others injured, in a collapse in a gold mine in northern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
And local media reported that "five gold miners were killed in a landslide that occurred at a mining site in Ganggala district, in the northern Ituri province, and two others were injured, and they were taken to Mongpwalu Hospital for treatment."
On June 7, at least 20 people were killed when a diamond mine collapsed in the village of Chamashingo, in the southern Kasai province.
Mining accidents are common in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
