The former workers' settlement in Mannheim attracts many viewers in front of the television every Tuesday.

In addition to the twin mum Janine and the cult resident Elvis, the favorites also include the extended family of Florian and Marina.

"Hartz and cordial": Daughter Lea does voluntary service after school - "a year of preparation"

As MANNHEIM24 reports, the RTLZWEI camera follows the residents of the barracks at every turn and provides an insight into the normal madness in Mannheim.

Marina and Florian live with their extended family in one of the terraced houses in the middle of the settlement.

Daughter Lea is only a few weeks away from graduating from school - and has already thought extensively about her professional future.

She wants to get to know everyday work in the rescue service with a federal voluntary service.

For a year, the 17-year-old will "be there with an ambulance".

As a result, the young barracks woman hopes to have better chances of getting a job later on: "I was told that you can use it for a year of preparation," Lea reveals in the 67th episode "Hartz and warmly".

Not only Lea, but also her sister Anna, who is one year younger, knows exactly which career path she would like to take: “First of all, I will graduate from school and then I will do my training as a hairdresser.

Then, in five years or so, my master’s degree so that I can become self-employed,” says Anna about her plans for the future.

While Marina's daughter dreams of self-employment, "Hartz und cordial" beauty Janine has almost made it - and signs the contract for her own shop.

Florian completed an apprenticeship as a vehicle mechatronics technician.

The parents are proud that their daughters take the topic of the future so seriously.

They fight against the cliché of the Hartz IV family: Marina's and Florian's children want to work and be independent of the job center.

Florian supports the goals of his daughters and would like to support them on their way.

In concrete terms, this means for the extended family that they will register their offspring for a driver's license after they graduate from school.

The driver's license is particularly important to daughter Lea, since a driver's license is a prerequisite for her career aspirations.

His son Martin also takes care of his professional future in the Elvis household.

The "Hartz und cordial" youngsters apply for an apprenticeship at Mercedes-Benz in order to turn their passion for cars into a career.

Both families in the Benz barracks are happy that their children want to start their careers straight away.
