This Sunday's Manchester derby in the Premier League was completely painted in blue after Manchester City's outstanding 6-3 victory against Manchester United, in a match where Norwegian striker Erling Haaland shone again.

Haaland, who arrived at Pep Guardiola's team in the most recent transfer window, scored three goals in this Sunday's derby, in the 34th, 37th and 64th minutes. At that point, the match was already almost defined 5-1;

thereafter, United managed to score two more goals and City another to leave the final score 6-3.

City's other three goals were the work of one more hat-trick, although in this case the author was Phil Foden, who scored in the 8th, 44th and 82nd minutes.

It only took Haaland eight Premier League games to collect his third league treble.

This figure becomes even more impressive when you consider that these three

came in three successive league home games – against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and now Manchester United.

The Norwegian player has a total of 14 goals and three assists in his first eight English league games.

With the victory in the derby, Manchester City is in second place in the Premier League with 20 points, just one unit behind Arsenal, who is the leader with 21 points.
