Lenggries – After the municipality of Lenggries leased 15 parking spaces from the Bavarian State Forests in the southern municipal area, the negotiations with the water management office have now been successfully concluded and there are two additional areas.
From now on, the municipality will operate the parking spaces at the Wasserwachthütte on Sylvensteinsee and at the bathing area on the Walchen between Sylvensteindamm and Achenpass.
"In order to have counter-financing for the maintenance, parking machines were set up," reports City Hall Managing Director Tobias Riesch.
"The parking fees should also help to finance further infrastructure, such as a toilet facility at the water rescue car park."
There has also been a change in the parking spaces on the state forest property.
According to Riesch, the parking lot around three kilometers south of Hohenwiesen on the Isar was closed due to a lack of demand.
Riesch: "With the support of the Tölz forestry company, parking spaces in Vorderriß could be created without major intervention in nature." Where the state foresters stored tree trunks a few years ago, hikers and cross-country skiers can now park their cars.
