In recent days, Likud Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed in closed conversations his fear that the Chairman of the Jewish Home, Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked, will try to "extort" the Prime Ministership from him if she passes the threshold and enters the next Knesset.

"She must not be trusted. If she passes with four mandates, she will try to extort the prime ministership from me like Bennett, so she must not be allowed to pass," Netanyahu said in talks with Likud officials and the political establishment.

Likud launched a targeted campaign against Shaked last week under the title "Ayelet does not pass," this is a continuation of the clear trend in polls in the last month where she receives between 1.5-2% support and is far from the blocking percentage.

The purpose of the campaign is to erode Shaked's support and make her withdraw from the race, so as not to waste tens of thousands of votes, some of which may go to Likud if she does not run in the end.

The Likud campaign says that data and in-depth studies show that Shaked has no chance of passing the threshold of approval and therefore endangers the entire right-wing bloc.

MKs in Likud and other political parties who presented Shaked's claim to Netanyahu, according to which if she passes she will complete the majority needed to form a right-wing government, heard from him the fear that Shaked would do a "Bennett act" and try to use her position as a balance sheet to reach the prime ministership with four mandates .

Shaked, meanwhile, strongly resists the pressure to resign and declares that she will fight to the end, but Likud and religious Zionism are simultaneously exerting pressure on number 2 on the Jewish Home list, Givat Mayor Shmuel Yossi Brodani, to announce his retirement, in order to weaken Shaked and force him to follow suit.

The Likud denied it.

"The publication is not true. Ayelet Shaked does not pass the threshold and has no chance of passing. Shaked says she cares for the right-wing camp, but in practice she is once again endangering the right and transferring votes to the left-wing bloc. A vote for Ayelet is a vote for the trash," it said.

"The Red Line Protest"

As published yesterday in Walla!, the pressure on Shaked will be joined this week by the right-wing organizations that led the political protest against the Bennett Lapid government and the partnership with Ra'am under the name "Red Line Protest". An internal document obtained by Walla! revealed the preparatory methods of action designed to put pressure on Shaked Withdraw from the race.

Under the title "You do not have a mandate to overthrow the right", the activists plan to hold protest vigils in front of the homes of the candidates of the Jewish Home party, to infiltrate house circles "in order to challenge", to spread messages against Shaked in WhatsApp groups and to hold a central demonstration in front of Shaked's house nearby by the time of the elections, if she does not resign. These are organizations affiliated with Likud and religious Zionism, but the parties claim that they have nothing to do with the activity and do not finance it.

The organizations are the ones who led the protest against members of the Yamina Party in the last year after the establishment of the government with Prime Minister. They held protest vigils outside the homes of members of Knesset Idit Silman, Nir Orbach and more in order to influence them to withdraw from the coalition and overthrow the government. The heads of the organizations believe that a method of action A similar effect will also have on Shaked, who wants to please the political right and will cause her to withdraw in the weeks remaining until the elections.
